Arcade Gym Fixes It for New Mum’s Energie Boost !

New Mum Cheryl Bonham is showing off her fantastic slimline shape after losing nearly seven stone in less than a year!

 Cheryl signed up at the ladies only gym Energie, at Morpeth’s Sanderson Arcade last spring – she decided to do something about her weight after tipping the scales at 17 stone 3.

Now as the gym celebrates its first birthday this week Cheryl is wearing clothes she never thought she’d be able to buy and has a brand new outlook on life.

Cheryl started her fat burning plan after becoming a Mum to baby Joshua who is now 15 months old.

29-year-old Cheryl, from Pegswood in Morpeth, says her eating got out of control after she left home as a young adult – at her largest she was nearly 20 stone.

But it was struggling to bend over and put baby Joshua into his cot that made her decide it really was time to change.

Cheryl said: “I was too fat to bath Joshua properly, I couldn’t get close enough to the bath or put him into his cot, I wanted to be a good Mum and my family were all really worried about me. I felt my weight was starting to affect other people and stopping us doing things as a family.”

Before signing up at the gym Cheryl started a health eating plan to kick start the weight loss. She’d actually dropped from 18 stone to 17 stone 3 lb during her pregnancy and now she’s a trim ten and a half stone.

Before losing the weight Cheryl was morbidly obese with a BMI of 41, now it’s a healthy 24 and she’s determined to keep up the good work with exercise classes four times a week.

“I love coming here, I prefer female only gyms and I really looked around before deciding. Everyone is so supportive and encouraging and all the staff are just great. I like the classes best because it really motivates me and I’m determined I’m going to keep it up,” added Cheryl, who works part time as a probation service officer.

Cheryl’s husband Dave and all her family are really proud of her determination and staff at the gym say she’s an inspiration to all their members.

Manager at Energie, Michelle Kelly added: “It’s great to see Cheryl in the gym, she’s got loads more confidence and she looks amazing. We’ve got her before and after pictures on our wall of achievement to show other people what they can achieve!”
