It already has a reputation in the North East for being a food lovers’ paradise – now The Corbridge Larder has chosen Morpeth’s Sanderson Arcade as the location for its second delicatessen and coffee shop.
And though the company prides itself on high quality traditional products and good old fashioned value, it was through the bang up to date social networking site twitter that The Corbridge Larder’s owner Dave Robinson was first encouraged to come to Morpeth.
The Corbridge Larder has more than 3,000 followers on twitter and after one customer tweeted that the company should open up in Northumberland’s County Town of Morpeth Dave Robinson decided to take a look at Sanderson Arcade.
Now the award winning company is fitting out its brand new 2,000 sq ft deli and coffee shop in a unit adjoining Morpeth Bus Station at the Arcade which will house a 40 seat coffee shop as well as a fantastic 25 ft deli counter and a take out coffee bar when it opens in late May.
Selling 2,000 delicious deli items including 100 different cheeses The New Corbridge Larder will be a must for the region’s foodies. The company specialises in sourcing northern products as well as offering a great selection of international gourmet speciality foods.
Dave said: “From that first twitter message we received we decided to look at Morpeth as a location for our second store – it’s a beautiful town and a great place for our new deli and coffee shop.
“We are passionate about good food and our ethos is that we serve what we sell and we sell what we serve – even down to the salt and pepper on the tables so when our customers enjoy something in our coffee shop they can buy that same product to enjoy at home.”
The news comes as Sanderson Arcade is celebrating the completion and opening of its second phase – bringing more new retailers to the town including JoJo Maman Bebe and Monsoon.
Centre Manager, Debbie Anderson, said: “The Corbridge Larder has a fantastic reputation in the North East and we are really excited that the company is opening its second store here at Sanderson Arcade. It’s such a unique store with some fantastic products and a great addition to The Arcade.”
The Corbridge Larder is currently recruiting for supervisors and sales assistant in preparation for opening at the end of May. The new store will create 12 new jobs in the town.
