Visitor numbers reach three million at Morpeth’s Sanderson Arcade!

Morpeth’s award winning Sanderson Arcade development has topped three million visitors since it opened its doors to shoppers just eighteen months ago.

In June last year the centre celebrated its millionth customer and less than twelve months later a further two million shoppers have stepped through the doors.

The figures have exceeded all expectations at the Morpeth shopping centre where the second phase was officially opened last month welcoming new retailers JoJo Maman Bebe, Monsoon and Mountain Warehouse to the town.

Later this month The Corbridge Larder will also open for business and exciting plans are underway for the Newcastle based leisure operator Bar Luga to open a new outlet at Sanderson Arcade.

Centre Manager, Debbie Anderson, said: “Visitor numbers are increasing on a monthly basis but we were very pleasantly surprised to reach the three million mark at this stage.

“Morpeth is a great place to shop and to visit and we have really noticed that our new stores are bringing shoppers from a much wider area into the town.

“We try hard to bring something different for our shoppers to enjoy and will be launching our summer sounds programme at the beginning of June.”

Since opening in November 2009 the Arcade has been highly commended in a number of national awards as well as being named as the best mixed use development in the UK Property Awards last year.
