Morpeth’s brand new delicatessen and cofee shop has been officially opened by the town's mayor and the Morpeth Gadgie!
The Gadgie - Morpeth's regional version of a town cryer - was on hand to shout about the fantastic array of regional fare which is stocked at the Corbridge Larder.
The new deli and coffee shop sells more than 100 different types of cheese among its 2,000 delicious deli items as well as boasting a 40 seat coffee shop.
Although the shop actually opened to customers earlier this summer the brand new store was celebrated with an official civic opening on Friday as well as special tastings throughout the weekend of some of the delicious products available at The Larder.
The Mayor Cllr Phillip Taylor welcomed the new investment in the town and said he was delighted to see the Corbridge Larder joining the line up at Sanderson Arcade.
"Its a great pleasure to officially open The Corbridge Larder and I'm particularly pleased to see so many great regional products that are stocked," he added.
Owner Dave Robinson, said: “We have been delighted with the response we have had to our new deli and coffee shop here in Morpeth. As a company we are passionate about serving and selling good quality food including some of the fantastic local products that we have here in the North East.
“We first decided to take a look at Sanderson Arcade after receiving a twitter message about the centre last year – it’s the perfect place for us."
Centre Manager at Sanderson Arcade, Debbie Anderson, said: “I was a pleasure to welcome the Mayor and The Morpeth Gadgie to the centre for the official opening of The Corbridge Larder - it really is a unique place with a fantastic menu and product range.
"Having fantastic local companies like The Corbridge Larder is one of the things that makes Sanderson Arcade so special."
Jump Shoes for Kids and the gift and homewares specialists Just 4 U have also both opened for business at Sanderson Arcade this month.
