Great ideas for your family meals at the Farmers’ Market this Saturday

29 July 2014

This Saturday’s August Farmers’ Market falls during “Family Meal Month” – and there are some great ideas for cooking up quick and easy meals for all the family.

Recipe cards will be available for some tasty meal ideas which are perfect for a family on a budget.

One of Geordie Bangers favourite family dishes is his World Cup inspired Geordie Banger Samba Sausage stuffed peppers.  His delicious recipe can be found at his stall at Morpeth’s Farmers’ Market this Saturday.

Or if you fancy a bit of fish, why not pop over to Swallows Fish who have come up with a deliciously tempting dish of grilled monkfish with a rosemary and caprese salad.

The fish can be found freshly sourced from Swallows who originate in Seahouses Northumberland. If monkfish doesn’t take your fancy, they also sell a range of other freshly caught seafood such as smoked salmon, kippers and crab.

There will also be live music on the Market Place with Rich Allon performing a set of acoustic songs from 10am.

Organisers are hoping everyone will come along and support local talent as well as having a browse around some of the region’s best quality goods such as homemade jams from JR Jams or fancy fudge from Kenspeckle! There really is something for everyone at this month’s Farmers Market.

Morpeth Market is managed by Northumberland County Council and Sanderson Arcade, working in partnership with Morpeth Town Council, Morpeth and District Chamber of Trade and other local organisations through the Morpeth market working group. The Farmers’ Market runs from 9am to 3pm on Morpeth Marketplace.
