Kate and Craig set their sights on a new venture at Morpeth’s Vision Express Store

Husband and wife team Craig and Kate Sixsmith have taken over as franchisees of the busy Vision Express store at Sanderson Arcade in Morpeth.

The store opened in 2009 and since then has gone from strength to strength employing six members of staff.

Craig Sixsmith joined the store six years ago and has developed a fantastic reputation as an optometrist, whilst wife, Kate Sixsmith worked as a manager between 2009 and 2014 and then re-joined as a practice manager in July 2016 after starting a family.

After helping to build up the business in the town the couple have now taken on a franchise agreement and launched a joint venture with Vision Express to own and manage the Morpeth store.

Kate and Craig have already big plans to develop the store and continue to grow its reputation and client base. They’re keenly focussed on ensuring all customers enjoy the best care and service as well as leading an enthusiastic team.

Kate Sixsmith, Vision Express Practice Manager says, ‘We are both extremely excited for this new chapter in our lives. It makes perfect sense that with Craig's vast experience as a clinician and mine as a manager we would make the perfect team.

“Having looked at several options we decided that Morpeth is the place we want to be. We are both committed to the location and choose to have a business here as well as residing and raising our family here. We love the store and the loyal patient base we have here.”
