Show Morpeth Market Some Love This February

1 February 2016

Whether you are shopping at the weekly Wednesday Morpeth market or the monthly Farmers’ market, romance is definitely in the air this February as local traders get prepared to celebrate the most romantic day of the year.

The first Farmers’ market of the year takes place on Saturday 6th February, just over a week before Valentine’s Day which falls on Sunday 14th February, and the weekly Wednesday market will also be celebrating on the 10th!

Whatever you are looking for Morpeth Market has some great ideas for those searching for that special gift or planning a romantic meal.

At the Farmers’ Market Shelly Louise Designs has some beautiful new jewellery designs in for this next season as well as a bespoke range of scented candles and gifts.

TimeFreezer photography also has some stunning images of the local scenery which would look great on anyone’s wall.

There are also great gifts for all the foodies out there this Valentine’s Day including organic local honey from The Honey Store, Handmade jams from JR Jams and delicious chocolates and fudges from Kenspeckle, or special pink macarons from Le Mini Macaron!

There will also be the usual fantastic range of fresh fruit and veg all at great prices with Julians Fruit and Veg and Jimmy the Lamb man being at both the Wednesday market and Farmers’ Market and Northumbrian Poultry will also be there this weekend with fresh lamb and organic chickens.

Perfect for freezing; ask Jimmy for his expert recommendations on how to cook your chosen meat to perfection to make a memorable Valentines dish. Then head over to Benny’s Toon Macaroons for some delicious coconut treats for the perfect dessert.

Morpeth Market is managed by Northumberland County Council and Sanderson Arcade, working in partnership with Morpeth Town Council, Morpeth and District Chamber of Trade and other local organisations through the Morpeth market working group.
The weekly Wednesday Market and The Farmers’ Market both run from 9am to 3pm on Morpeth Marketplace.
