April Showers Display Installed at Sanderson Arcade

5 April 2019

A special “April Showers” display has been unveiled at Sanderson Arcade in Morpeth this week with a host of colourful umbrellas suspended from the glazed roof of the centre’s stunning Edwardian gallery.

The new gallery installation marks the start of April and replaces the striking display of books which has been in place throughout March to celebrate Book Week.

The display at the Arcade changes every month to reflect the seasons or special events happening in the town.
Previous displays have included suspended bicycles as well as suffragette themed artwork which was installed in tribute to the town’s famous suffragette daughter Emily Wilding Davison.

This months’ colourful display celebrates the start of spring with its canopy of brightly coloured umbrellas.

During April the Arcade will also be hosting its first Garden Lovers Fair which is due to take place on Saturday 20th April.  The event will run from 10:30am to 3:30pm and will include garden themed activities, demonstrations and entertainment.

Centre Manager of Sanderson Arcade Joel Plumley said: “The new April Showers display at the Arcade looks fantastic. Our customers love seeing the displays along the gallery changing with the seasons at the beginning of each month.”
