Sanderson Arcade has relaunched its yearly fundraising initiative, aiming to raise £5,000 for the centres nominated charity Tiny Lives.
So far, the Arcade has raised £4,000 for the charity, which works to
help care for premature and sick newborn babies along with their mothers and
families in the Special Care Baby Unit at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in
Newcastle.
Lottie Thompson, Centre Manager at Sanderson Arcade, said: “Tiny Lives
is such a life changing charity and is always there for families and babies
when they need it most, which is why we are so determined to hit our £5,000
goal.”
Over the Christmas period, the centre partnered up with the Tree of
Light Group, who are managed by the Morpeth Rotary to help with fundraising
efforts. The group allows people to place a dedication on the Sanderson Arcade
Christmas tree each year, all whilst raising money for a worthy cause.
Sanderson Arcade has eight months left to reach its goal and has planned
various fundraising activities throughout the centre’s busy calendar of events.
Lottie continued: “At Sanderson Arcade we are committed to working in
partnership with the wider community. Over the last 10 years Sanderson Arcade
has raised over £30,000 for local children’s charities including The Sick
Children's Trust, Alan Shearer Foundation, Barnabas Stobhill Centre and
Cleaswell Hill School." “Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, our fundraising efforts had to be
put on pause. But that just makes us even more determined to hit our target for
Tiny Lives!”
