Fashion store CC opens at Morpeth’s Sanderson Arcade development
9 February 2009
CC – the fashion brand for the discerning woman – is the first store to open as part of the fantastic new Sanderson Arcade development in Morpeth, Northumberland.
The chain, previously known as Country Casuals, has over 200 branches across the UK and Ireland and is currently fitting out to open its latest brand new store at the 835 sq ft unit in Morpeth - part of the £32 million town centre development currently under construction.
The new store will be open in time to co-incide with the launch of the CC Spring/Summer collection and will stock CC’s main range as well as the petite range, jewellery and shoes.
The women’s fashion retailer which is part of the Austin Reed Group first hit Britain’s high streets in the 1970s as Country Casuals. Now it has a new fresh look with actress Jane Seymour as the face of CC.
CC will occupy the former Nobles Amusement building on Bridge Street in Morpeth, next to the entrance to the new look Sanderson Arcade which is delivering 90,000 sq ft of brand new retail space in the heart of the town.
The company has taken a 15 year lease and is fitting out ready for a store opening by the Mayor of Castle Morpeth Cllr Irene Brumwell on Thursday February 12th.
Management and staff have been recruited locally and five new jobs have been created at the Morpeth store.
CC Retail Operations Director, Amanda Macleod Smith, said: “It is our strategy to open new stores in picturesque towns where our customer enjoys their shopping experience. We are very excited to be involved in the new Sanderson Arcade development and look forward to welcoming a new customer base in Morpeth”.
Director of Morpeth II, Mark Dransfield, said: “CC will be a great addition to the town and we are looking forward to the store opening. It’s great news for Morpeth and shows the confidence that exists in the area as a shopping destination.”
Sanderson Arcade is being brought forward by Morpeth II, the development partnership of Ethel Austin Properties and Dransfield Properties – the market town specialists behind the award winning Marshall’s Yard development in Gainsborough.
CC offers a great range of classic and elegant clothes. For further information about their lines visit the company’s website at www.ccfashion.co.uk
