HOME BARGAINS OPENS NEW STORE IN MORPETH - Retailer creates up to 50 jobs with £500,000 investment

Home Bargains is investing approximately £500,000 in its new store in Morpeth, which will be officially opened on Saturday 27 August 2016. 
 
The event will feature a special appearance from children’s favourite Pokemon, Pikachu, as well as Mr Muscle. 
 
The company, which is one of the UK’s largest family-run retailers, is creating up to 50 new jobs in the community with its latest store, located at Stanley Terrace on Dark Lane.
 
This will be the first Home Bargains store to open in Morpeth, joining over 400 outlets across the UK. Opening approximately 50 stores a year, Home Bargains is bucking current trends in the industry.
 
Joe Morris, operations director at Home Bargains, said: “We’re thrilled to be launching our first store in Morpeth and look forward to welcoming new customers through the doors.” 
 
The 11,200 sq ft unit, which occupies half of the former Morrisons site and is adjacent to Pets at Home and Next, will offer shoppers a range of products, including homewares, health and beauty essentials, sweets, snacks and drinks, as well as fresh and frozen food.
 
Joe added: “Stanley Terrace will be a great location for us and we’re pleased to be a new addition to the local business community.
