Jewellers Guild Showcase Design Work

6 May 2019

The family run business The Jewellers Guild has created a brand-new workshop area in their Morpeth store.

As well as stocking a great range of luxury brands the company has been designing and crafting handmade fine jewellery for almost 15 years. Now they’ve brought their workshop area into the heart of the store for customers to view the stunning pieces as they’re being created.

The Jewellers Guild's beautiful modern store is perfectly placed in the heart of Morpeth's main shopping area at the Bridge Street entrance to Sanderson Arcade.

The store team decided to create the in-store workshop after customers commented how much they enjoyed seeing the video of the company’s talented goldsmith at work and wanted to know more about the processes involved.

The centre celebrates its 10th anniversary later this year and the family run jewellers was one of the first tenants to sign up to the town centre development which was officially opened by Joanna Lumley OBE in November 2009.

Managing Director of The Jewellers Guild Keith Peters, said: “At the time we opened we had the idea of a workshop area incorporated within the store but felt it didn't work for us initially.

“Now as we have grown and developed the bespoke side of our business it's become a very intrinsic part of what we do."

Mark Mabbett the Designer Goldsmith added: “There are others in the region doing bespoke and remodelling jewellery but we feel the high quality of both the design and execution of our work is head and shoulders above the competition.”

Now shoppers can enjoy seeing Mark crafting some of his stunning bespoke pieces when they visit the store.

Joel Plumley, Centre Manager at Sanderson Arcade, said: “The Jewellers Guild celebrates its 10th birthday this year along with the Arcade and it is great to see one of the original tenants at the centre continuing to invest and grow their business.  The new workshop area looks fantastic and certainly creates something completely different in the store.”
