Leading British Fashion and Footwear Retailer Steps Into New Store at Sanderson Arcade

24 January 2012

The contemporary British designer fashion brand Hobbs is opening the company’s first stand alone store in Northumberland at Morpeth’s award winning Sanderson Arcade development.

Established in 1981, Hobbs launched its first boutique in Hampstead initially specialising in Italian crafted footwear. Now an international company with over 100 stores nationwide, with its own in-house creative design team, the brand DNA has evolved and diversified into both clothing and accessories.

Attention to detail and craftsmanship have always been an integral part of the brand ethos, along with the use of luxurious and timeless fabrics in modern and contemporary designs. Hobbs prides itself in constantly pushing forward whilst remaining true to its British origins, offering exceptional quality and service, anticipating a woman’s fashion aspirations and current lifestyle choices.

The new Morpeth store is due to open in March and will cover 940 sq ft in a unit along the Arcade’s Edwardian style gallery creating around 15 new jobs in the town.

The latest development is one of a number of exciting changes at the Arcade which will also see the boutique chocolate shop Curiously Wicked expand after its hugely successful opening in November last year.

Hobbs will be moving to the former Lemon unit at the centre - Lemon is moving to new premises on Newgate Street in the town.

Centre Manager at Sanderson Arcade, Medi Parry, said the company is delighted to be welcoming another high quality retailer to the Arcade. Hobbs will join a great line up of high street names and independent retailers.

Medi added: “Hobbs is a fantastic retailer and the new store will be a great addition to the Arcade, we know the company is very keenly focussed on customer service which is something we are also passionate about.

“We know from the feedback we have had from our customers that they are keen to see those classic and timeless brands like Hobbs here at The Arcade.”

Alana Mazza, Retail Director at Hobbs said: “Hobbs is delighted to be opening its first stand alone store in Northumberland later on this Spring. The new store will house our Hobbs London brand which will offer customers iconic, modern and luxurious clothing with a unique point of difference”

Work fitting out the new shop starts in February and the new store is scheduled to open in March. For details of exact opening dates keep an eye on the Sanderson Arcade website www.sandersonarcade.co.uk
