Morpeth May Farmers’ Market set to celebrate British summer time

30 April 2018

The Morpeth Monthly Farmers’ market returns this weekend and traders are gearing up to embrace the warmer spring weather with a special barbeque and picnic theme.

Saturday 5th May will see the return of Morpeth Farmers’ Market favourites such as Hexhamshire Organics, Castle Bakery, Northumberland Cheese and The Honey Store.

There will also be barbeque classics available from the likes of Geordie Bangers with their hand crafted delicious sausages, and Moorehouse Farm with the ultimate collection of local meats.

Picnic must-haves will also be available to pick up from Murphy’s Kitchen’s filled pies and first time trader on the Morpeth Market Pete’s Pudding – with his North East classic pease pudding.

Sanderson Arcade’s Centre Manager Joel Plumley said “We can’t wait to get into the true spirit of British summer time at the May Farmers’ Market and help you prepare for the barbeque and picnic season!”

Morpeth Market is managed by Northumberland County Council and Sanderson Arcade, working in partnership with Morpeth Town Council, Morpeth and District Chamber of Trade and other local organisations through the Morpeth Market working group.

The Morpeth Market is held every Wednesday from 9am – 3pm and the Farmers Market is the first Saturday of every month.

This year’s annual Morpeth Food & Drink Festival returns this October and is almost fully booked! Traders looking to attend the festival can apply online via Sanderson Arcade event page.
