Morpeth's Summer of Fun planned with free activities across the town!

18 July 2019

Throughout the school holidays Morpeth Market and Sanderson Arcade are working together on a busy diary of activities which will run every Wednesday and Saturday during the summer break.

All events are free and activities will include, face painting, balloon modelling, Punch and Judy Show, glitter painting as well as welcoming a host of characters such as Little Mermaids, with mermaid makeovers. There’s also a Princesses Day planned with the chance for youngsters to make their own crown.

All Morpeth Market activities take place from 11am – 1pm and are running alongside the weekly Wednesday Market and monthly Farmers Market which takes place on the first Saturday of each month.

Sanderson Arcade events will be located in the artificial grassed area in the centre. Events organised by Waterstones and Pets at Home will also run alongside the activities and will be taking place in the stores.

Waterstones events include the popular Summer Story Time for Tots, Mon – Sat from 10:30am – 10:45am. Waterstones have chosen a theme for each week of storytelling and kids can enjoy a free carton of juice while parents and guardians will be given a token for 20% off their morning coffee at Central Bean.

You can also book a space on one of Pets at Homes ‘My Pet Pal’ workshops aimed at children aged 5-11. The workshops are aimed at helping to teach youngsters how to care for their pets. Workshops take place every day at 11:30am and places can be booked online.

Sanderson Arcade’s Centre Manager Joel Plumley said “We can’t wait to start our Six Weeks of Summer Fun with a brilliant range of activities taking place both at the Market and in the Arcade.”

The Morpeth Market is held every Wednesday from 9am – 3pm and the Farmer's Market is the first Saturday of every month.

Morpeth Market is managed by Northumberland County Council and Sanderson Arcade, working in partnership with Morpeth Town Council, Morpeth and District Chamber of Trade and other local organisations through the Morpeth Market working group.
