Much loved Morpeth yoga studio moves to new home at Sanderson Arcade

4 June 2026

Yoga Den, an independent yoga and wellness studio founded in Morpeth in 2018, is relocating to Sanderson Arcade later this summer - marking an exciting new chapter for the popular local business.

After almost eight years at Wellwood House on Dark Lane, Yoga Den is moving into the town centre to create a calm, welcoming wellness space right in the heart of Morpeth.

The studio was founded by local yoga teacher Christie Harley, who set out to make yoga inclusive and accessible for everyone, regardless of age, experience or ability.

Since opening, Yoga Den has grown into a supportive community hub offering a wide range of classes including vinyasa, yin, restorative, beginners’ yoga, chair yoga, pregnancy and postnatal sessions, as well as breath‑work workshops, sound baths, retreats and holistic wellness events.

The studio is known for its warm, friendly atmosphere and its focus on movement, mindfulness and wellbeing.

The move to Sanderson Arcade will allow Yoga Den to expand its offering and create a purpose‑designed studio space that is easy for local residents to access while shopping or visiting the town centre.

The new studio will open in July at Owen House at The Arcade where Snap Fitness can also be found.

Christie Harley, founder of Yoga Den, said: “Yoga Den has always been about so much more than yoga. It’s about creating a space where people feel safe, supported and able to take time for themselves. We’re incredibly excited to begin this new chapter at Sanderson Arcade and continue building a community‑focused wellness space in Morpeth.”

Erica Malpass, from the Sanderson Arcade centre management team, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Yoga Den to the Arcade. Christie has built a fantastic community over the years, and it’s wonderful to see a much‑loved Morpeth business taking this next step with us.

“Yoga Den will bring something really special to the Arcade, and we know our visitors will be thrilled to have this new wellness space right on their doorstep.”

To celebrate the opening, Yoga Den will host a weekend of free taster classes on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July, giving everyone the chance to explore the new studio and try out a variety of classes.
