New Shoe Shop Steps Up at Sanderson Arcade

3 May 2019

The brand new independent shoe shop Victoria Grace at Sanderson Arcade held its official opening event on Friday 3rd May.

The store was officially opened by Deputy Mayor and soon to be new Morpeth Mayor, Cllr Alison Byard, who cut the opening ribbon alongside store owner Diane Scott.

Shoppers were invited to enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbly and chocolates throughout the day as well as some exclusive introductory offers and a competition for one lucky lady to win a pair of new shoes.

The store opened to the public in April this year and has already built up a strong following of shoppers after a successful first month of trade.

The new store brings a wide range of well-known ladies’ shoe brands to the area including Birkenstock, Caprice, Alpe, Lotus, Rieker, Remonte and Lunar.

Victoria Grace is headed by manager Jill Batch who is from the team behind MD Advanced Nutrition, the business which has occupied the unit fronting Bridge Street since Sanderson Arcade opened 10 years ago.

The nutrition business has now changed location in the town and re-branded as Morpeth Health Store. Dianne Scott and Anna Boutflour took the opportunity to launch a new business and open their own independent shoe shop, bringing a great range of new brands to the town.

Owner Diane said: “We have had an amazing first month here at Victoria Grace, the ladies of Morpeth are very happy with the new brands we have introduced to the town!”

Morpeth’s Deputy Mayor Alison Byard said: “It’s great to be welcoming a new retailer to Morpeth. Sanderson Arcade continue to buck the trend in terms of footfall and empty shop units! Victoria Grace is a great addition to the women’s fashion line up in the town and I wish them all the success.”

You can find Victoria Grace at the front of Sanderson Arcade on Bridge Street alongside The Jewellers Guild.

Alison will become Morpeth’s Mayor for a 2nd time running at the Mayor Making Ceremony on Wednesday 15th May.
