Rick Stein signing copies of his new book at Waterstones in Sanderson Arcade

23 October 2023

The famous chef, TV presenter and author, Rick Stein is coming to Morpeth to promote and sign copies of his new cookbook, Simple Suppers.

Rick Stein will appear at Waterstones bookstore in Sanderson Arcade in Morpeth town centre on Friday, 3 November at 12:30pm.

In his new book Rick shares a brand-new collection of 120 easy recipes designed to provide food lovers with stylish and joyful dishes for any day of the week.

Rick Stein commented on the recipes: “These are my simple suppers, recipes that are straightforward and informal – yet effortlessly delicious. The idea of supper appealed to me because it suggests an ordinary meal. When one is not trying too hard; maybe something you're going to cook in your jeans and polo shirt, a glass of vinho verde on the worktop.”

The recipes are paired with stories that celebrate the simple things in life with chapters covering suppers for one, suppers with friends, fast suppers and, in order to make everything simple, including the washing up, one-pot suppers.

The book champions recipes that should not take more than an hour to prepare, are straightforward and informal – yet effortlessly delicious using a short list of ingredients that are readily available in any supermarket.

Waterstones Store Manager, Caroline Dominey, said: 'We're all really excited at Waterstones in Morpeth to welcome Rick Stein to our store, where he will be signing copies of his latest book Simple Suppers. We've had a lot of interest from our customers who are really looking forward to meeting Rick and getting their copy of Simple Suppers signed, which can be purchased from the store beforehand.

"We are anticipating a lot of interest on the day and expect it will be very busy and a fantastic day, so we are advising people to arrive early to avoid disappointment.”

Centre Manager at Sanderson Arcade, Lottie Thompson, said: “We are preparing for a busy day with Rick Stein visiting and will therefore be putting a queue system in place so shoppers can move around the centre and in and out of shops freely as normal.”
