Stratstone Tyneside BMW announce sponsorship of Morpeth Food and Drink Festival!

The team from Stratstone Tyneside BMW are sponsoring Morpeth’s annual Food and Drink Festival for the fourth year running.

Last year’s event saw visitor numbers top 30,000 and this year the popular festival will run over two days.

The annual event is celebrating its 5th anniversary and will take place on the weekend of 7th and 8th of October with more than 100 stalls across the town and a packed line up of entertainment and cooking demonstrations planned.

Organisers say the 2017 event will be bigger and better than ever with many of the usual favourites returning including the demo kitchen in the Market Place. Among the chefs who will be sharing their tips and skills will be Lorna Robertson a Masterchef 2017 Finalist from Berwick.

The festival will also showcase the delicious local produce which is available in the region and will also see the return of the ever popular pie, scone and jam competitions.

For the second year, the festival will also see the return of the O2 music stage area, taking place near The Chantry where local bands and performers will keep the town’s food loving visitors entertained.

The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers will also once again return and march down Newgate Street – they’ll also treat the crowds to a static performance next to the Market Place. A park and ride system will also be in operation.

Filipa Conceicao, centre manager at Sanderson Arcade and part of the Morpeth Food and Drink Festival’s Committee said: “October can’t come soon enough, we are all really excited and looking forward to making the event bigger and better than ever and to seeing everyone enjoying themselves over the weekend.

“We really couldn’t put this event on without the support of local companies and we are absolutely delighted that Stratstone Tyneside BMW are supporting the event once again – they are a fantastic local company and it is great to have them on board for the first two day Food and Drink Festival.”
