Tastes from around the world come to Morpeth’s Street Food Market this weekend!

The region’s finest street food traders will be returning to Morpeth this Saturday (22nd May) for the monthly Street Food Market, filled with fabulous food inspired by global cuisine.

From 10am-4pm you’ll be sure to find something for all taste buds as street food to go from Greece, Peru and of course Northumberland trade in the Market Place.

Phi Pie Greek Street Food, Halloumi Street Fries, Cocina Peru, Geordie Bangers and Coffee Supreme will be amongst the traders attending.

The Street Food Market, which takes place on the fourth Saturday of every month, was introduced in 2020 and runs alongside the monthly Farmers’ Market and weekly Wednesday Market.

Plan are also underway to introduce two speciality markets this Summer, a Northumbrian Market in July and Craft Market in August.

Morpeth Markets are managed by Northumberland County Council and Sanderson Arcade and have a number of safety measures in place to protect visitors including mandatory mask wearing around the market, hand sanitisers on each stall and contactless payment methods.

Centre Manager of Sanderson Arcade, Lottie Thompson said: “We are really looking forward to our popular street food market to return this weekend, bringing tastes from around the world right to the heart of Morpeth!

“Our weekly and monthly markets are a fantastic way for locals to support their independent traders whilst enjoying a day out with the family in a safe environment”.
