The Pudding Parlour Wins Top Regional Bakery Award!

28 February 2020

The family run bakery business The Pudding Parlour has won a prestigious North East award in the National Bakery Awards.

Formed in 2013 by brother and sister team Kristy Giblin and Greg Small the business has its head office and trade bakery in Prudhoe and a popular retail outlet at Morpeth’s Sanderson Arcade.

The pair have grown their business over the last six years and now supply more than 40 businesses across the region.

The Pudding Parlour’s unique take on cakes and bakes has become widely renowned for the bakery’s innovation and creativity - leading to them to be asked to make lots of cakes for celebrities over recent months. Celebrity cakes commissions include The Who, Vicky Pattinson and even Little Mix!

The trade bakery arm of The Pudding Parlour has shown real growth over the last 6 years, with turnover growing steadily year on year and the bakery now employing over 20 staff.

At the end of last year they also launched a mail order option on their website and now deliver their  delicious treats all across the UK.

This week The Pudding Parlour were announced as the “Best Bakery in Northumberland” at the prestigious National Bakery Awards and have now been invited to London in March to the national final.

Kristy and Greg are delighted with their latest accolade to add to their award shelf, and believe that their success stems from always staying a step ahead of the competition, maintaining great relationships with clients and having a fantastic team behind them who work alongside the siblings to create new and exciting products and ensure quality and consistency.

Joel Plumley, Centre Manager at Sanderson Arcade, said: “Well done to Kristy and Greg and the whole team at the Pudding Parlour on their well-deserved success, we’ll all be rooting for them in the national finals.”

Kristy Giblin and Greg Small are brother and sister live in Stoksfield and Crawcrook, Northumberland.
