7 December 2020
The team at Sanderson Arcade held a children’s writing competition in March this year to celebrate World Book Day but due to the lock down, a winner has not been announced until now.
With the help of the Store Manager from the Arcade’s Waterstones, Glynis, a winning story has finally been chosen. Out of over 100 entries, 8 year old Mollie Goose came out victorious with her story, ‘The Beadle and the Lost Top Hat’. Mollie’s story follows Gordon the Beadle on a search for his missing top hat, with a big surprise twist in the tale. Mollie Has won £50 to spend at Waterstones and has had her story published on the Sanderson Arcade website. Finally able to claim her prize, Mollie said: “I am really excited about winning the Sanderson Arcade writing competition and can’t wait to spend my voucher at Waterstones!”
Centre Manager of Sanderson Arcade, Lottie Thompson said: “We have loved reading all of the entries for this year’s World Book Day competition, but Mollie’s story was a very worthy winner, so huge congratulations to her!”
